Good2Note Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 15, 2026

Good2Note records audio, turns it into a transcript, and writes notes from it, on your iPhone. By default, your recordings, transcripts and notes never leave your device. The one exception is optional cloud summaries: if you choose them, the transcript is sent to my server to write the notes. Your audio is never uploaded.

This policy explains what the app keeps on your phone, the few times it connects to the internet, and what that means for you. "I" means the developer of Good2Note.

What stays on your phone

The app saves these things in its own storage on your device:

Transcription and note writing happen on the device. When the app uses Apple Intelligence, that also runs on your iPhone. Unless you use cloud summaries (below), none of this is sent to me or to anyone else, and I have no way to access it.

Microphone and imported files

The app asks for microphone access so it can record. It only records after you tap the record button, and it keeps recording with the screen locked until you pause or stop. A Live Activity on your Lock Screen shows while a recording is running.

If you import an audio or video file, the app copies its audio into its own storage. It doesn't look at anything else in your files.

Please make sure you have permission before recording other people. Recording laws differ by place, and some require everyone's consent.

When the app goes online

The app connects to the internet in these situations.

Downloading models. The speech models, and any summary model you pick, are downloaded from Hugging Face. Like any website, Hugging Face receives your IP address and basic device information when you download from it. The app doesn't send your recordings, transcripts or any account information with these requests. Hugging Face's privacy policy covers what they do with that data. After a model is downloaded, the app works offline.

Purchases. The free trial and the one-time unlock go through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the payment and tells the app whether you've unlocked it. I never see your payment details. Apple's privacy policy applies to App Store purchases.

Cloud summaries (optional). Some versions of the app may offer notes from a more powerful AI model that runs online. This is off unless you pick it, and the app tells you before anything is sent. When you use it:

The company that hosts my server also sees your IP address, as any website does.

What the app doesn't do

Sharing, backups and deleting your data

Sharing. If you use the share button, the text goes wherever you send it, such as Messages, Mail or Notes. From there it's handled by that app or person.

Backups. Your sessions are saved like any other app data. If iCloud Backup or a computer backup is turned on, they may be included in it. Those backups are managed by Apple and by you, not by me.

Crash reports. If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may send me anonymous crash reports. They contain technical details about the crash, not your recordings or text. You can turn this off under Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements.

Deleting. You can delete any session inside the app, which removes its audio, transcript and notes. Downloaded models can be removed under Settings > Downloaded Models. Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your phone.

Children

The app isn't aimed at children under 13. It doesn't collect personal information from anyone, children included.

Changes

If the app ever starts handling data differently, for example by adding an optional online feature, I'll update this policy and change the date at the top before that version is released.
